Mr. Desmond Anak Douglas Jerukan Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak (MPHLG)

I am Desmond Anak Douglas Jerukan, a senior public sector executive with extensive experience in the Sarawak Civil Service. I currently serve as Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak, providing strategic leadership in public administration, local government, organisational management, and public service delivery. Throughout my career, I have held senior management and acting leadership appointments across various Sarawak ministries, contributing to policy implementation, strategic planning, organisational transformation, performance management, and inter-agency coordination. My professional experience also includes contributing to local government development and disaster management initiatives. I hold a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, and a Bachelor in Applied Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia. I have also completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. My professional focus is centred on strategic leadership, governance, organisational transformation, local government administration, and strengthening public sector performance. I remain committed to advancing efficient, responsive and sustainable public service delivery in Sarawak.
