The Lusong Laku Adventure takes you deep into one of Sarawak’s most isolated and dramatic wilderness regions. Known for its volcanic formations, mountain valleys, Penan communities, and the mysterious Wong Buvong volcanic site, Lusong Laku is an adventure destination for travellers seeking untouched nature and authentic cultural encounters. This region remains far removed from mainstream tourism, offering the rare experience of exploring East Malaysia’s interior the way few travellers ever do.

DAY 01 ARRIVE BINTULU

Welcome to Bintulu! Upon arrival at Bintulu Airport, meet and greet with your guide at the airport. Your transfer will be waiting for you outside arrival with an AA Borneo signboard with your name on it. We transfer to our hotel at the edge of town. Enjoy sunset view (if weather permit) at Tanjung Batu Beach. Welcome dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02 LUSONG LAKU

After breakfast at the hotel, your adventure begins with a 7 to 10 hours drive to Lusong Laku. Lusong Laku in Belaga, Sarawak, offers an unforgettable adventure into one of Borneo’s most remote and pristine natural areas. Stop at Batu Tungun, a large upright stone formation deeply revered by the Penan people and associated with their origin stories and traditions. Upon arrival at Lusong Laku Village, settle your accommodation. Explore the village and visit Wong Pejiik @ Lusong Laku, also known as “Niagara Falls”, a 20-foot waterfall creating a misty spray over the Linau River. Dinner and overnight at the homestay.

DAY 03 LUSONG LAKU

After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride through the Linau River, known for its crystal-clear water and scenic rainforest valleys. After lunch, continue hiking to the volcanic crater and Wong Buvong volcanic site. Discover unusual rock formations, mineral colours, and volcanic features described by Penan elders. Return to the village and engage with the Penan community through handicraft and blowpipe making. Overnight at the homestay.

DAY 04 BINTULU

Enjoy your final meal with the locals before departing for Bintulu. Overnight in Bintulu.

DAY 05 DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Bintulu Airport for your flight out.

Recommended items to bring: Good hiking shoe (Made in Malaysia Rubber Shoes is recommended), raincoat / poncho, hat, insect repellent, leech sock, sunblock, walking stick (if needed), water bottle, toiletries, towel, swimwear, headlight / flashlights, personal First Aid Kit, dry bag packed to carry your personal items and extra cash if you wish to do local purchase.
