Call for paper

The two sub-themes (streams) for the conference include Communication and Ethnic community engagement.

Within these streams are the following themes:

  • Sustainability of dog vaccination and responsible dog ownership
  • Human behaviour changes for rabies elimination
  • Raising awareness across communities
  • Cross-border communication
  • Spillover of rabies into wildlife
  • Laboratory and field diagnostics and surveillance

Abstract Guidelines

General

  • Abstract must be written in the English language in all parts including title, abstract text, names of the authors, affiliations.
  • All abstracts must be submitted in PDF or Microsoft Words format.
  • Abstract should contain original material that has neither been published nor presented at another international meeting at the time of submission, and/or before the Rabies in Borneo Conference 2023.
  • A maximum of two (2) abstracts may be submitted per presenting author.
  • All abstracts submitted for presentation will be published exactly as received and should be checked for spelling and grammar prior to submission.

Title

  • The title should be in bold, Capitalise Each Word, centred, single spacing, font “Times New Roman”, font size 12, with no full stop at the end
  • Abstract title should be a maximum of 12 words.

Authors’ line-up

  • Each name should be in bold and spelt in full.
  • Presenting author’s name and surname should be underlined.
  • Capitalise Each Word, font “Times New Roman”, size 12 point, centred
  • Presenting authors must be registered to attend the conference physically in order to present their paper during the conference.

Abstract

  • The abstract should be of a maximum length of 300 words.
  • Subheadings of Introduction/Aim, Methods, Results/Outcomes and Conclusion/future actions, should be in bold.
  • Justified, single spacing, font “Times New Roman”, font size 12.
  • The spelt-out version for which an abbreviation or acronym stands should precede its first use in parentheses.
  • Figures/ Tables/ References should be avoided.

Keywords

  • Please provide a maximum of 5 keywords.
  • Left alignment, Capitalise Each Word, font “Times New Roman”, font size 12, Italicise.
  • Avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts.
  • Each keyword is to be separated by a comma.
  • Only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible.

Content

  • It is the responsibility of all authors to ensure that the content of their abstracts is scientifically sound and thoroughly proof-read for grammatical and editorial errors.

Ethics

  • It is the responsibility of all authors to ensure that the content of their abstracts abide to respective national and international legislations as well as ethical guidelines.

Plagiarism

  • Abstracts with plagiarism detected will be rejected.
